TMZ is reporting that reality television star Khloe Kardashian owes California money. The state says that Kardashian failed to pay $18,490 in taxes in 2007. Reports are that the lien is still unpaid, despite the star’s claims that she settled the issue years ago.

Kardashian blames a former accountant for the mix-up, according to TMZ. She stated that she paid the full $18,490, but the check must have never been mailed out by the accountant. Since the incident, reports say that Kardashian has hired a new accountant and made the payment in full. TMZ says it’s only a matter of time before the state of California receives the check and clears the star’s name.

She is just one of many Hollywood notables who have made headlines this month for failing to pay their taxes. Wesley Snipes, Chris Tucker and Shannen Doherty also owe the Internal Revenue Service some cash, according to the Toronto Sun.

Regardless of income, all U.S. residents are required to report their earnings and assets annually to the IRS. A lien may be filed if the government finds that taxes are overdue, and assets may be seized if an outstanding balance is not paid.ADNFCR-3424-ID-19917146-ADNFCR
